*Colostrum – is the best protection for any living mammal and given to newborns of mammals at birth. It is said to be helpful for adults, as well, especially with the overuse of antibiotics creating a situation where the human organism cannot fight off infection.

* Phosphatidyl Serine – is known as a “phospholipid” is science, which is a molecule that is part amino acid and part lipid, or fatty acid, found in every cell of the body. It is said to be important in the support of neurotransmitters, metabolism, and maintaining synapses in the brain.

*Phosphatadyl Choline – is contained in lecithin, which is needed to build cell membranes and help transport nutrients to cells. Phosphatadyl Choline helps to prevent heart disease by breaking down fat deposits and helps the liver remove toxins from the body.

A study was cited regarding this ingredient about its abilty to improve brain functioning, but it does not state how many subjects were studied nor how long the study was conducted. Again, this does not ensure the safety or effectiveness of this ingredient in our view.

*Tribulus Terrestris - has historically been used as an aphrodisiac in Indian Ayurvedic medicine. Currently, it is being used as a testosterone booster to build muscle and increase sex drive.

* Chromium GTF – is a trace mineral that helps in regulating blood sugar levels.

* L-Ornithine - is an non-essential amino acid, meaning that it is an amino acid that the body can produce on its own. It is able to stimulate the release of growth hormone in the body, which helps metabolize fat. It is required for a healthy immune system and proper liver function. It also found in skin and tissue and helps to heal both.

* L-Lysine – is an essential amino acid that helps the body absorb calcium and form collagen for bone, cartilage and connective tissue. It also increases circulation and helps the immune system.

* L-Glutamine – increases the body’s ability to secrete Human Growth Hormone.

* Ornithine Alphaketoglutarate (OKG) – is a combination of the amino acids Ornithine and Glutamine and is instrumental in the Krebs Cycle, which is a series of chemical reactions that utilize oxygen in the process of respiration.

* L-Glycine – is a non-essential amino acid that helps the body build proteins.

There are a few key ingredients included, such as L-Lysine and L-Glutamine, but it is missing many key ingredients, including L-Tyrosine and L-Arginine. Several of these amino acids are helpful in increasing the body’s ability to secrete Human Growth Hormone, but to truly be a Human Growth Hormone Releaser (HGHR), it needs to contain real Pituitary Gland Extract, which it does not.

In addition, there were studies conducted for seven years on a patented ingredient known as 2-AEP that is viewed as one of the best anti-aging ingredients in scientific circles.

The website shows that the California Academy of Health does have the seal of the Better Business Bureau, being a member of Better Business Bureau Reliability Program. It is also a member of the Natural Products Association.

But, through our review of the clearly stated ingredients and their functions on this website, it is very clear that it does not contain the most optimal ingredients for an anti-aging supplement.

Furthermore, its autoship program, euphemistically coined as the “Replenishment Club” here, is not as customer-friendly as we would like to see. Although it states that they sometimes have free trials, they do not at the present time. And, if a customer does join the “Replenishment Club,” a three-time replenishment commitment is required before customers can receive 10 percent off products. It contains ingredients that only have studies conducted for six months or shorter, which is not enough to ensure their efficacy or safety. We do not recommend customers taking a supplement where ingredients did not involve longitudinal studies, which are studies done over a long period of time.

Formulas including Pituitary Gland Extract and the patented ingredient 2-AEP are best, in that they have been studies for years by scientists in many different studies. Seek ingredients that have documented evidence of the length, number of subjects, and the outcomes of the studies in many professional journals supported by many professional associations.
