Overall, this formula contains fairly common ingredients. It is possible to find all in other anti-aging supplements. Though, we are concerned where the manufacturer obtained their “liver”. Due to the current concern over animal related diseases its important consumers are aware of where this company has received this source, but currently Schwartz Lab does not share this important information.

The most active ingredient in this formulation is DHEA, which is a hormone that is made by cholesterol in the adrenal gland located on top of the kidneys. This hormone is advertised as the "mother of all hormones" and the "fountain of youth hormone." Unfortunately, there has yet to be any research that conclusively finds that DHEA can slow down the aging process or even what its exact benefits may be. In fact, many nutritionists and doctors urge consumers to avoid this ingredient, at least until more is learned about it.

A brief history of this ingredient shows it was said to cause weight loss in the early 1990s and was included in many prescription drugs. However, the FDA told drug companies to stop using it in their formulations since they were nervous about the lack of information regarding its interactions with the body. Though, it was later reclassified as a dietary supplement which allows it to be sold over the counter.

As of now, most research conducted with DHEA has been done with laboratory rats. Though, one preliminary study on human subjects shows this ingredient can cause irreversible side effects, mostly in women. The company suggests users drop 8-10 doses under the tongue three times a day. Again, we do find this process rather odd, and do wonder why a company would choose drops over proven capsules. We would’ve liked to see the manufacturer address this issue, but unfortunately they do not.

This product is rather expensive for what you get, and may be hard to for many consumers to afford on a regular basis. A one-month supply costs almost $70. Though, there are several web retailers that have reduced this product to $62. This is not a huge drop, but does offer some savings.

Growth Hormone is likely to interest consumers who desire a fun, new way to look at anti-aging concerns. Oral drops are definitely different and it does require a stretch of the imagination to see how it may be beneficial for those with aging concerns. Furthermore, we do doubt this delivery method to adequately deliver the ingredients into the body for proper absorption.

Though, we are definitely concerned about the lack of knowledge surrounding the main ingredient, and feel consumers may be safer if looking elsewhere. We find the most effective anti-aging products to regenerate the body on a cellular level. A supplement that contains real natural growth hormone releasers is more likely to stimulate the production of growth hormones, which are key to addressing anti-aging issues. Unfortunately, this product does not contain such an ingredient.
